Henderson boss to step down

HENDERSON Global Investors' Far East Income trust manager Michael Watt is retiring in February 2007.

Watt, who has run the fund since 1990, will remain involved as either a consultant or a director, and will be replaced by Mike Kerley who has worked alongside him since April this year as deputy fund manager. The fund is also planning to redomicile to Jersey to give investors additional tax advantages and will become an investment company in February. Sarah Gibbons-Cook, investor relations and PR manager for investment trusts at Henderson, said: “The move is for tax purposes and will increase the yield for shareholders, but the areas the fund invests in will remain the same.” The £...
