Changes to tax relief on pension contributions risk damaging pension saving in the UK, according to the Lords Finance Bill Committee.
The influential Lords committee says the changes to pension tax rules would be inappropriate given that pension simplification was introduced just three years ago. The committee has also questioned the role of anti-forestalling measures, and believes the Government should reconsider its proposals.
