When looking at how to improve the UK's pension system we often look to systems such as those in the US and Australia for inspiration.

These systems have more experience of communicating pensions to the general public and there are lessons the UK can undoubtedly learn from them both. We also need to bear this in mind when it comes to retirement income. Neither Australia nor the US have any real annuity market, people tend to remain invested. We can learn from this as we embrace the flexibilities announced in the Budget.
