The UK IPO market is on course for a record-breaking year but the hype has led to some questionable valuations. Mark Boucher explains how to separate the wheat from the chaff

The initial public offering (IPO) market has been buoyant since the start of the year, with a number of high profile companies raising new money in the equity market. The market's receptiveness to new issues is positive, suggesting there remains strong demand for quality equity. However, risks remain, particularly in the higher profile deals, where investor expectation may not match the longer-term prospects for a company.  Research by J.P.
