Market strife leads IFAs to question investment judgement

The volatility in current markets has led many advisers to realise they are not best placed to make investment portfolio allocations, according to Parmenion Capital Partners.

Parmenion sales director Paul Miles believes the combination of today’s market climate and the FSA’s RDR has forced advisers to question whether they can still generate appropriate returns for clients. “We have been surprised by the number of quality IFAs who are coming to us and saying that they would rather not make the investment choices,” Miles says. “The majority of IFAs are not investment specialists, and outsourcing is a better way of going about their business."
