Barclays unveils iPath ETNs in Europe

Barclays Capital has unveiled two iPath exchange-traded notes in Europe, providing exposure to volatility for investors in the UK, Germany and Italy.

The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Futures ETN and iPath S&P 500 VIX Mid-Term Futures ETN are senior, unsecured, unsubordinated debt securities linked to the performance of the respective underlying benchmarks. The indices enable investors to participate in the volatility of the S&P 500 index, which comprises the 500 largest companies in the US, weighted according to market capitalisation.
