Barclays lists ETN in Asia

Barclays Capital has listed an exchange-traded note on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX).

The banks says the listing of the iPath Dow Jones UBS Commodity Index Total Return note represents the first ETN launched in Asia outside Japan. The iPath ETNs are senior, unsecured and unsubordinated debt securities linked to the performance of the underlying index. Barclays Capital head of Investor Solutions Philippe El-Asmar says the iPath range, which was first launched in the US in 2006, has attracted over $5bn, with over $80bn in volume traded since inception.
