iShares is planning to offer commodity ETFs this year, plugging a gap in its product range.
The firm's head of sales EMEA David Gardner says iShares has been looking at launching for some time, but is trying to find a way of giving exposure in a transparent and liquid form. He says: "We innovated with our multi-swap counterparty model. We would only move into areas like commodities if we can be equally innovative. We have an eye on commodities - watch this space."
