Morningstar unveils real return discretionary portfolios

Morningstar has launched a range of four real return portfolios as it further expands its discretionary management service.

The multi-asset portfolios have return targets ranging from CPI +1% to CPI +5%, with varying equity exposure limits. They are modelled on portfolios already offered by Morningstar in Australia. They will be actively managed by Morningstar's OBSR Managed Portfolios team. The team uses both passive and active instruments to construct its portfolios. Real Return 100 has a max equity weight of 40%, Real Return 300 has a minimum of 20% and a maximum of 70%, Real Return 500 has a minimum 60% while Real Return Flexible has an open remit.
