Investors more confident about financial knowledge than financial future, study finds

Young investors are more confident in their knowledge of investments than their older counterparts, according to research by Schroders.

The firm's 2016 Global Investor Study identified that more than two-thirds (68%) of the so-called ‘millennial' generation - those aged 18 to 35 - reckon they have a greater understanding of investments than the average investor. In contrast, the survey - which canvassed the views of 20,000 investors around the world, including 1,000 in the UK - found fewer than half of investors aged 35 or above think they have a greater than average understanding of investments.
