Columbia Threadneedle Investments is relaunching the Threadneedle Ethical UK Equity fund with an updated investment objective and a new name.
As of 1 July, the fund will be renamed the UK Sustainable Equity fund to reflect its newly stated objective of focusing on sustainability, with the policy having evolved from its original ethical focus. The fund previously invested in companies that met its criteria for responsible and ethical practices, largely on an exclusion basis, but has evolved since James Thorne and Sonal Sagar assumed control in June 2017 and November 2018 respectively to invest in companies focusing on sustainable outcomes.
