OMW platform encouraging advisers to query online to save call centre for vulnerable client needs

Quilter's Old Mutual Wealth (OMW) platform has received an influx of phone calls from financial advisers, which have largely been influenced by the Covid-19 outbreak and recent market falls.

OMW head of proposition Jeremy Mugridge told Professional Adviser their phone lines are "much busier than usual" since the crisis began. He said the platform was encouraging advisers to go online so they can react more quickly to urgent requests, particularly from vulnerable customers. "We are also thinking ahead to the possibility of temporary interruptions to critical postal services by ensuring as many clients as possible are set up to use our online services and able to send and receive money by bank transfer," he added.
