The market for equity release products in the UK was one of the few mortgage-related sectors that continued to show signs of strength during 2008. While overall figures for the year will probably show a slight drop in lending volume as compared to 2007, there will be no dramatic difference. This is a sure sign that significant demand for the products exists and given the current climate, one would suggest that it will grow considerably.
