Auto-enrolment is arguably one of the biggest legislative challenges that companies will face over the next few years. Under this new scheme it will be a requirement that all employers pay into a pension for their employees - provided their staff do not opt-out. This is sure to increase the administrative and financial burden on businesses but will also create an opportunity for advisers to speak to those companies that have in the past decided not to offer a company pension or any benefits beyond salary (and perhaps bonus).
