The torch is touring the country and excitement is building – the Olympic and Paralympic Games are nearly upon us. Some of your employees may have booked annual leave in order to attend the Games or watch the TV coverage. However, reports suggest that 7% of the population is planning on taking a ‘sickie’ to tune in to see Team GB, with that figure rising to 24% in London. The cost of this absenteeism to employers will be significant.
