If it is relentless drizzle causing creeping damage - as in, say, a British summer - a good builder should be able to do a comprehensive proofing job. This is what we have experienced over the last five years. But if we are worried about flooding or, worse, a Zimbabwean tsunami of inflation, the job is far harder.
