You want to gain the trust of clients? "It's simple, just remember the basics," says Adam Katten, managing director of NLP Financial Management. As recipient of Advisory Firm of the Year at this year's Professional Adviser awards, Katten is someone who should know how to gain trust. The basics, he argues, include referring to elderly clients as Mr and Mrs, returning calls, dressing appropriately at meetings and being punctual. "You can get very far in life if you mind the little things," he says. Similarly, doing the right thing often means Katten works beyond normal office hours. ...
