New Star Asset Management is to use three of its UK salesmen to try to expand the distribution of its funds in continental Europe. It has also strengthened its Hong Kong office to try to increase sales in Asia and is considering re-entering the South African market. As part of this restructure, Philip Goldsmith has changed his responsibilities at New Star. While he is still managing director of New Star International, Goldsmith will focus on distributing hedge funds and selling its Dublin fund range in France and Spain.
