Baring Asset Management is to launch a Dublin-domiciled Middle East and North Africa (Mena) fund, managed by the group's regional specialist Dr Ghadir Abu Leil-Cooper.
With a minimum investment of £5,000, the fund, for which Barings is currently seeking regulatory approval, will hold 40-60 stocks and will be benchmarked against the MSCI Arabian Markets ex Saudi Arabia index. It will be actively managed on a bottom-up basis, following a strategy of growth at a reasonable price (Garp). Jupiter has launched a Sicav version of its India fund, managed by Avinash Vazirani.
