The Treasury Select Committee has launched an investigation into the protection of UK savers investing in non-UK jurisdictions, in a bid to identify lessons learnt from the banking crisis.
Evidence is also expected to focus on the role of financial advisers in the banking crisis, plus the impact it had on consumer confidence and financial institutions. A host of experts will give evidence including members of AIFA, the Landsbanki Guernsey Depositor's Action Group and KSFIOM Action Group. The committee's witnesses will discuss the impact of deposit protection on consumers, plus whether any regulatory reforms are desirable.
