Lichtenstein to tone down secrecy laws

Lichtenstein will bow to pressure to curb its bank secrecy laws and embrace exchange of information in a bid to combat tax evasion and fraud.

The principality's government will sign up to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development's (OECD) standards of transparency and offer bilateral tax deals on cooperation. The agreement will be the culmination of years of internationally co-ordinated work by the UK tax authorities, OECD and HMRC with the UK embassy in Berne and the Lichtenstein government.
