Britons are more likely to be thinking about saving than spending in the run-up to Christmas this year, research from L&G suggests.
The change comes despite the government’s latest efforts to wreck long-term savings by effectively shutting down the PTA market. Interviews conducted on about 1,000 adults by the British Market Research Bureau, BMRB, between September through November found 56% were thinking about saving more in the run-up to Christmas, against 54% at the same time last year. Some 34% said they would be spending, down from 38% two years ago.
