There's an inherent problem with home information packs: while most people agree the current system we have for buying or selling a property is antiquated and needs to be improved, no one can agree on a way to make the process more efficient and consumer-friendly.
It isn’t that home information packs are all bad. The intention behind them is actually fairly admirable, so the issue is more around the mechanics of delivery and content. For many, they don’t contain enough information, for others they will put consumers off selling their home because they require too much information or because of the cost involved in creating the packs – estimated at anything between £600 and £1000.
