Advisers have little faith in Govt housing plans

A survey of members of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA) found that more than half have little confidence in the Government's new housing policy.

The IMLA survey also found one in two members believe the Government plans to kill off HIPs. According to the IMLA, 52% of respondents say they have little confidence in the Brown Government’s new housing policy. Despite strong opinion on the workability of Brown’s policies, only 2% of respondents thought this was a key issue affecting them. Instead, a quarter though competition was a key issue, 18% were worried by credit issues and 15% thought business volumes were a major concern.
