Skandia to create MM fund of 10 'alternative' classes

Skandia Investment Group (SIG) has announced a unique plan to create a multi-manager vehice comprising of 10 alternative asset classes.

SIG says the new fund, which is currently in the planning phase, will be the first of its type available to retail investors and is expected to have a very low correlation to equities, bonds and property. A panel of 10 fund managers will each run an alternative asset class within the fund. SIG hopes to unveil the managers in four to six weeks time and launch within 10 weeks.
