F&C's Philbin quits to join new Axa firm

F&C multi-manager Richard Philbin has quit the firm to join a new Axa-backed investment management business.

Philbin, who spent seven years at F&C, is the first high profile name to join the standalone investment company - set to launch later in the year. Axa confirmed Mike Kellard will be the CEO of the new business, with Ian Colquhoun the managing director. Dean Cheeseman, who co-ran the multi-manager range with Philbin, has been named as funds of funds head at F&C. "We have always said that a key strength and differentiator of our multi-manager proposition is that it is underpinned by a robust quantitative screening process – and that remains in place," F&C UK Retail head Nick Criticos says...
