Nationwide has announced it will close its UCB Homeloans brand in response to the slowing mortgage market.
The closure leaves the building society with just one specialist-lending arm, The Mortgage Works. The brand closed to new lending at the beginning of October and nine sales jobs will be lost as a result. Nationwide says The Mortgage Works has a more advanced technology platform and the society wishes to focus on one specialist brand going forward.
