Tories to put 'roadblock' in front of Hips

The Conservative Party has today said it intends to fight the introduction of Home Information Packs (Hips) next year into the house buying process.

During a visit to Leeds today to highlight the problems facing first time buyers, Caroline Spelman, Shadow Secretary for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, has said the Conservatives believe in wider home ownership as a matter of social justice. Spelman committed the Tories to continuing to oppose the planned introduction of home information packs into housing deals by the Summer of 2007. And she pointed to new research from the National Association of Estate Agents which highlights public concerns about the packs.
