Allison to retire as SLI cuts jobs

Scottish Life International's John Allison says he is hanging up his "marketing" boots and retiring next year, on the same day as the offshore life company unveiled plans to cut 60 jobs.

More than 30 years after starting his working life at the Scottish Life company in a variety of marketing-led roles, Allison is now stepping down as marketing director having worked, he says, five years longer than his original retirement date. “32 years in the business is a pretty fair innings and those who know me well personally will appreciate that, at the age of 55, I’m actually 5 years behind my original retirement date target,” says Allison. “While this is definitely farewell from me to the corporate marketing life, I will now be able to reconsider some of the more interesting ...
