Liontrust is set to join the raft of fund houses rolling out long/short offerings this year with the launch of a European Absolute Return fund in the autumn.
The vehicle will be run by Gary West and James Inglis-Jones, managers of the £38m Liontrust Continental Europe fund and the Liontrust European hedge fund. The fund will adopt a Ucits III structure and will follow a similar mandate to the European hedge fund. Ignis Asset Management is expected to launch its joint venture Argonaut European Absolute Return fund by the end of Q1, after suspending its entry into the market in November.
