Close Investments sheds Finsbury branding and appoints new Far East manager

Close Investments has hired a new manager for its Far East Equity fund following the retirement of Stephen Swift of Jade Absolute Fund Managers, who previously ran the portfolio.

The move will see a re-shaping of the Dublin-domiciled portfolio and a likely halving of the number of stocks. It comes as Close abandons the Finsbury part of its name in an ongoing rebranding exercise and rationalisation of the business that was announced last year. The process has seen a number of investment businesses brought under the single banner of Close Investments. Colin Ng, of Singapore-based UOB Asset Management, has been handed the mandate to act as investment adviser to the fund.
