Offshore law firm Ogier has made 17 staff redundant following an efficiency drive aimed to reposition the business for the coming 12 to 18 months.
Of those leaving its Jersey branch, six are lawyers, three legal secretaries and eight employees in business services groups. The firm currently employs 485 people in Jersey, including 91 lawyers. "As part of our regular and ongoing business management we have recently completed a review of our business to ensure we have the right resourcing and skills mix for the coming 12 to 18 months," a company statement reads.
