After almost a year's wait, savers with money trapped in failed bank Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Isle of Man (KSFIOM) have been told they will receive their first dividend from the bank's liquidators next week.
According to the bank's website, depositors whose funds have been frozen in KSFIOM, which collapsed last October, will get 22.1p in the £1, higher than the 14.5% originally expected. But company liquidator, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), says savers may get more than that depending on when more bank assets are recovered. Distribution of the first dividend will take place on 4 September to ensure it is as large as possible, according to a statement from PwC.
