The UK has signed a double taxation agreement (DTA) with Switzerland, enabling both countries to exchange information, designed to prevent tax evasion.
The DTA was signed by Stephen Timms and the Swiss ambassador to the UK, Alexis Lautenberg. Switzerland vowed to change its stance on international cooperation in tax matters and embrace the OECD tax information sharing standard, in March.
