Julius Baer launches Japan fund to UK

Julius Baer has rolled out a Japan fund with a split quantitative and qualitative asset allocation model to the UK retail space.

The Japan Stock fund combines two investment approaches to target excess returns from the region. Julius Baer will first use a quant screens to identify the 100 most attractive stocks in the MSCI Japan index, which represent 55% of the fund. Second, a concentrated portfolio of 20 to 30 stocks is created from companies which are deemed to have excellent business models and a leading position in the markets they operate in, either domestically or abroad.
