L&G offers split sum assured on term assurance and CI

Legal and General is now offering the facility to apply for different sums assured for term assurance and critical illness cover.

The split sum assured option will be available as part of the provider's menu product, and is designed to allow advisers to tailor protection sales to individual clients' needs and budgets. Bernie Hickman, managing director for protection at Legal & General, said: "It's important for people to have adequate cover against critical illness, but sales have been falling for the past few years.
