L&G with-profits fund sees double digit returns

Legal & General's with-profits fund generated double digit returns during 2009.

The fund returned an average of 14% before taxes and charges and has beat inflation over a 10-year period. Legal & General says its smoothing measures have helped protect investors from market falls in 2008 and benefit from the resurgence in equities during 2009. Over the past 10 years the fund has returned 43% before tax, beating Retail Price Index inflation by 13% over the same period.
