One IFA has begun charging broker consultants £150 plus VAT for one hour of their time. But do they take him up on it?

Chartered financial planner Dennis Hall says as the industry becomes more professional, it makes sense to introduce a fee to deter strong-willed account managers from eating into client time. "This is not about trying to generate another income stream, but rather its objective is to spend less time listening to sales pitches," Hall, the managing director of Yellowtail Financial Planning says.
