Estate agent's lovers forge wills in battle for fortune

The case against a wealthy Welsh estate agent's girlfriend accused of forging his will has collapsed and a retrial ordered.

Gillian Clemo was on trial at Newport Crown Court in South Wales for allegedly forging estate agent Chris John's will after it was discovered he had never legally divorced his wife Helen John. Adding to the tangled nature of the case, Ms John had already been arrested and officially cautioned for forging an addition to the disputed will. Chris John, head of Chris John & Partners in Cardiff, died suddenly in 2008 at the age of 47 from a brain haemorrhage, but apparently left no will for his multi-million-pound estate.
