McKernan to head SWIP European credit team

BlackRock's Daniel McKernan has joined Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (Swip) as head of European and UK credit within the fixed income team.

McKernan, formerly the director of fixed income and senior portfolio manager at BlackRock, will take up his new role on 1 February, 2011. He will report to Neil Murray, global head of credit. McKernan will be responsible for driving the strategy and performance of SWIP's UK and European credit offering. He will run both the investment grade credit research and institutional investment management teams, and will have direct responsibility for a number of large credit mandates.
