Assets in US listed ETFs and ETPs reached $1.027trn last Thursday, according to BlackRock's Global ETF Research and Implementation Strategy Team.
As of 16 December, the US had 894 ETFs with assets of $887.2bn and 185 ETPs on $115.5bn, combining to surpass $1trn for the first time. The figures indicate a growth in assets of over $209bn and a net increase of 165 products year-to-date - including 49 ETF delistings. The success of US ETFs and ETPs has been largely due to interest in North American and emerging market equities, with diminishing focus on fixed income and commodities.
