Medicals Direct eyes NHS business

Insurance service provider Medicals Direct has applied to register as an NHS service provider under the Health and Social Care Act.

The company, which currently supplies medical evidence gathering and underwriting services for the insurance industry, released the news as it opened a new medical facility in the City of London. Mike Benton, CEO of Medicals Direct, commented. "Having applied to register as a service provider if new proposals contained within the Health and Social Care Act are passed, we expect to be well placed to benefit from increased demand due to our UK-wide distribution of services, ranging from full medicals to a range of rehabilitative services."
