The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) has withdrawn a letter signed by itself and other medical practitioner bodies regarding Bupa's plans for arthroscopic knee surgery.
The open letter to members was also signed by the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) and the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations (FIPO). But since its publication, the private medical insurer has denied many of the claims made and contacted the body querying the matter.
