Policyholder protection will be at the heart of the Prudential Regulation Authority's (PRA) post-2012 supervision of insurance companies, a joint FSA and Bank of England paper outlines today.
The PRA, which will also supervise deposit-taking institutions and some investment firms, will focus its efforts on those insurers and issues that pose the greatest risk to policyholders and to the wider stability of the UK financial system, according to the paper.
