Staff don't understand value of employee benefits

Employees do not understand the value of their employee benefits package while many under-25s ignore it altogether, according to research.

Despite these figures almost two thirds (64%) surveyed said the employee benefits package was important when choosing a job. The study, conducted by Standard Life and Vebnet, found over half (52%) of employees do not understand the total value of their package and a quarter (25%) of 18-24-year-olds make no use of the benefits available to them at all. It also revealed that outside of salary, the benefits valued most by employees were pension (68%), flexi-time (15%) and bonus (6%).
