The Dow Jones has ended a three day winning streak, with investor sentiment taking a hit from losses in ‘safe haven' commodities.
The Dow Jones fell 180 points or 1.61% to 11,010, while the S&P 500 lost 24 points (2.07%) to 1,151. The losses came amid continued falls in commodity markets. US copper prices plunged 5.6%, while WTI oil tumbled 3.8% to $81.21 a barrel, driven lower as the dollar continued to strengthen. It gained 0.72% against the Euro to €1.3623, as investors continued to fret amid concerns European policymakers will be unable to contain Europe's debt crisis.
