Aviva is making the employee assistance programme (EAP) freely available on all its group income protection (GIP) schemes.
Previously the EAP was a paid for telephone only add-on which has been expanded to include face-to-face counselling sessions and a debt advice line. The provider said this was prompted by its recent research which found a third of employees are concerned about their finances. Support has also been introduced for employers with a new management service that includes an online stress support section explaining the legal issues and how to help prevent, manage and recognise stress in the workplace.
