The Isle of Man has been praised for its role in supporting the UK economy by the Lord Mayor of the City of London on the occasion of his first visit to the Island.
Alderman David Wootton told the Manx business community the Island was a leading example in proving just how diverse and dynamic small economies could be. In particular, Wootton acknowledged the role of the financial sector as a provider of liquidity to the wider British economy, singling out its growing involvement with businesses in the north west of England and through the City, itself.
