The government has published its final proposals for public sector pension reform, but several unions have already deemed the offer unacceptable.
In February, members of Unite and the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union voted to reject the government's proposal published in December. A final set of proposals to reform the NHS Pension Scheme, the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme and the Teachers' Pension Scheme has today been published. The final proposals include an aim to link the normal retirement age of public sector workers to the state pension age, and to move schemes from final salary to career average structures.
