Hoban lunched with bankers every fortnight

Financial secretary to the Treasury, Mark Hoban, was taken out for breakfasts, lunches and dinners 37 times in the 15 months to June 2011, official figures have revealed.

Commercial secretary to the Treasury Lord Sassoon's engagements exceeded Hoban's, totalling at 42 meals out with corporate interests over the same period. On average, both Hoban, pictured, and Sassoon dined out with corporate entities roughly every two weeks, according to official disclosures of hospitality received by ministers. Conversely, Chancellor George Osborne had far fewer meals out on companies or financial associations, often restricting his to two or three per quarter.
